Counselling
Starting a degree programme in Austria confronts international students with major challenges. Legal questions, financial uncertainty, a new learning and teaching culture, problems in organising the studies and private worries are frequent companions of everyday study life and ensure high drop-out rates. Intercultural misunderstandings can also have a negative impact on the success of your studies.
With us, you will receive practical help in coping with studying in Austria and the associated requirements. Counselling at the AAI is of course free of charge and available at relatively short notice. The contents of the counselling sessions are treated confidentially.
For students from the Global South, there is the possibility of one-time financial support (bridging aid). The prerequisite is a counselling appointment and a comprehensive application.
It is best to contact us by email to arrange an appointment.
If you experience discrimination or hate (online), the following organisations are there for you as well:
Summer break!
We would like to inform you that the Student Advisory Service is currently on summer break and is not staffed at this time. Consultations and personal appointments will not be available again until September.
If you have any questions about studying, enrollment, or admission requirements for studying in Austria, please contact the relevant departments at the universities directly.
You will be able to book counseling appointments again starting in September.
We appreciate your understanding and wish you a pleasant summer!
